Former Union soldier Charlie Jefferson strikes up a friendship with Dave and Henry Willis in Pottersville, Arkansas. The brothers are planning to drive cattle from Texas to the lumber camps of the Arkansas timberland, and invite Charlie to join them. But the scheme falls foul of the Red Masks, a gang of bushwhackers who are terrorizing the area. To bring the criminals to justice, Charlie must throw in his lot with the army once more.
