You can get a library card from any public library in Saskatchewan simply by visiting your nearest or preferred branch and asking staff for assistance.
All patrons must have proof of ID and of a Saskatchewan address with them to receive a library card.
Young Adults (ages 14-18) may also use their school identification as proof of ID but must still present proof of address.
Children (ages 13 and under) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who must have proper ID and proof of address. The parent/guardian will sign the child's library card and are responsible for their checkouts and any fines that may accrue.
Borrowers are responsible for all material borrowed on their library card and any fines that may be charged to their account.
To replace a lost library card a patron must bring their ID to a Saskatchewan public library and may be charged a replacement fee for a new card.
Any lost/stolen library cards should be reported immediately to your local library branch.
Each patron must have their library card each time they visit a Saskatchewan public library to check out items or access their account.
You can always ask questions to our library staff about a library card by visiting or calling your local branch, or the Yorkton Public Library Reference Centre at 306-783-3523 or [email protected].
